The spectacular scenery of the Benasque valley makes it the ideal place for many sports, both during summer and winter. The village is located in the old Ribagorza county, formed by the valleys that surround the Esera river. Benasque is surrounded by the highest concentration of peaks higher than 3000 metres in the entire Pyrenees, among which we must point out the Aneto peak, 3404 metres high. In the nearby town of Cerler we find the tallest ski resort of the Aragonese Pyrenees.

Cerler Ski Resort

Aramón Cerler is the highest resort in the Aragonese Pyrenees. Situated in the Benasque Valley, it reaches 2,630 metres at its legendary Gallinero summit, and is the resort with the largest vertical descent in the Pyrenees: 1,130 metres. Thanks to its beautiful landscape, surrounded by more than 60 peaks over 3,000 metres high, Aramón Cerler is a resort with extraordinary natural beauty.

Posets-Maladeta Nature Reserve

The Posets-Maladeta Nature Reserve is a group of mountains located in the most north-easterly sector of the Aragonese Pyrenees. This area is home to some of the highest summits in the Iberian Peninsula. It is one of the most representative areas of the Pyrenees mountains and has a high ecological, landscape and natural diversity.

Candanchú Ski Resort

The uniquely-beautiful Candanchú nestles in the heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees at the head of the Aragon River, next to Somport pass, and is on the N-330, 28 kilometres from Jaca and 111 from Huesca. It is the oldest ski resort in Spain (1928) and a pioneer of skiing courses. It has a wide variety of pistes of all levels, as well as a complete network of ski-lifts to access them. Those who go there enjoy fantastic holidays, and are attracted by its great variety of pistes, it convenient access and its complete residential centre.

Llanos Del Hospital Ski Resort (Cross Country)

Located in the Posets-Maladeta Nature Reserve, it is ideal to enjoy a wealth of stunning countryside: glaciers, forests of black pine with their own habitat, etc. Its situation on the north side of the Aneto-Maladeta Mountains gives the resort a privileged micro-climate with generous snowfall throughout the winter season.
