It is located in central Spain, in the northeast of the Castile-La Mancha region. The best way to discover the area's rural landscapes is to visit its famous Black Architecture villages. There are also several protected natural spaces in the province, such as the beech forest in the Tejeda Negra Nature Reserve.

Brihuega

Imagine: vast purple fields with kilometres of lavender flowers, the air full of their fragrance and outdoor concerts… It’s the Brihuega lavender festival, held every July in this village in Guadalajara (Castilla–La Mancha), when they gather the flowers that bloom in late June and early July.

Black Architecture Route

Molina de Aragón

An important city in north eastern Guadalajara, and the capital of the old Lordship of Molina, one of the most important in the Castilian Middle Ages, the village of Molina de Aragón keeps its urban layout and medieval neighbourhoods enclosed by imposing walls. Its historic quarter has the Property of Cultural Interest designation.

Sigüenza

This lovely city in the north of the province of Guadalajara is home to an outstanding architectural heritage, and in 1965 was declared a Historic-Artistic site.
